Director of Information Technology

Crest Foods Co., Inc. is a family owned and operated culture-driven, dry food manufacturing company that was established in 1946. Its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, laboratories and offices are all located about 90 miles west of Chicago in Ashton, Illinois. Crest Foods is currently looking for a Director of Information Technology to lead the planning, implementation and operation of information technology to enable the achievements of the organization’s business objectives. The Director of Information Technology is responsible for cybersecurity, the effective design, development, implementation and operation of information technology products, services and 24/7 support.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and overseeing the cybersecurity for the company that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and servers
• Identify and eliminating security vulnerabilities with strategic solutions that increase data security
• Managing all of the IT department and staff
• Communicating with the technology team and other departments as collaboration requires
• Coordinate IT activities to ensure projects are prioritized and completed within time
• Ensure all systems are monitored, functioning and patched accordingly
• Ensure basic standards are being followed by end users and IT team
• Conduct root cause analysis, identify and execute resolution of recurring issues
• Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
• Managing and maintaining the company wide network infrastructure
• Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
• Manage all local IT assets
• Research and make recommendations on hardware and software purchases and negotiate with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions
• Create and participate in the annual budget planning process, and recommendations for capital expenditures for the fiscal year
• Maintaining the company’s ERP system

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Preferred but not required)
• 8-12 years of experience working in an IT organization supporting business technology needs, with at least 3 years of experience in project management and 5-7 years supporting Accounting applications
• Experience with financial and employee data management systems is required, and 5-7 years ERP systems
• 5+ years of maintaining and supporting EDI systems
• 5+ years of supporting and maintaining the cybersecurity
• Excellent understanding of computer systems, cybersecurity, network and system administration, databased and data storage systems and telecommunication systems

Skills:

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, computer systems, networks, telecommunications, databases and storage systems
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
• Solid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of IBM i-Series technology
• Understanding of manufacturing ERP systems
