For my 10 year trip, I decided to go to Hopkinsville, Kentucky (roughly 20 miles north of Fort Campbell) with my son, Caleb, to visit my brother and his wife. We spent the first night in Metropolis, Illinois and visited the old forts along the Ohio River. The next day we made it to our destination after a brief detour (lol). So we get to Black Dog Farm (yes, they have 3 black Labradors) and get situated with the house we are staying at.

The first day we did a little sightseeing of the tobacco fields and saw how they pick it all by hand and then take it to the drying barns. They hand the tobacco from all the rafters and let it dry for up to 7 days. They then hold a small 3 day festival where they start smoking the tobacco (still on the rafters), and they bring in food trucks and have a cigar connoisseur come in and teach everyone the whole process. The next day we went to an escape room, and then went and saw the new Top Gun movie (where you could actually pick where you want to sit before you go in). We then visited a local brewery that my brother and his wife had done some part time work before. There were about 20 different food trucks and a lot of good tasting bbq. On the last day we went to my brother’s former soldier buddy’s house and shot a variety of guns (AR-15, shotgun, 9mm glocks and a couple other rifles). I found out my son is right-handed naturally, but left-handed when it comes to shooting. I want to thank Crest Foods for letting us do this for my 10 year anniversary.
