Briefly share your work experience/background: I ‘fell’ into accounting following a year and a half as a special education teacher post- graduation from Northern Illinois University. From there, I accepted a position in the accounting department of a family-owned insurance agency where I learned about internal functions and processes of a small business; furthermore, I learned about the insurance industry and all lines of business – though I primarily worked with employee benefits producers to ensure timely and accurate commission reports.
What are your hobbies/interests? My free-time is best spent with a good book and soft blanket. I value my continued education in life and look for ways to never cease learning; furthermore, I enjoy staying active and look for any reason to be outside. Otherwise, I love collecting records, thrifting, and vintage shops!
Tell us a little about your family: I am the proud cat mom of two beautiful felines – Stormi and Teddy.
What are you looking forward to the most in your new role at Crest Foods? I am most looking forward to learning more about accounting in the private sector and broadening my toolbox in a different industry. Above all, I am excited to continue on as a ‘detective’ in regards to the how and why Crest Foods functions!
