CNC Machinist

$25-$27/HR

We are on the lookout for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of precision machining, operating and programming CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce high-quality parts. Your expertise will help ensure that our products meet strict specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Fabricate a wide variety of metal and non-metal parts from verbal directions, sketches, and drawing to specified tolerances.

· Operate overhead cranes, tape measure, micrometer, caliper, basic hand tools, square, protractor, various electric and pneumatic power tools.

· Poses strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills

· Compute decimal equivalents and interchange fractions

· Compute, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, of fractions and decimals

· Regulate equipment as necessary for the work performed

· Inspect and clean equipment

· Make minor repairs to equipment and support equipment

· Perform all weekly preventative maintenance on the fabrication equipment

· Maintain a high degree of quality and generate little scrap

· Prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment

· Understand common set up techniques

General hours of work:

· Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm

Skills required:

Machining

· Set up and operate all of the following machines: horizontal band saw, vertical band saw, drill press, manual mill, manual lathe, CNC vertical machining center, CNC combination lathe, CNC waterjet, automatic surface grinder, hydraulic press, arbor press

Fabricating

· Set up and operate all of the following machines: shear, hydraulic press brake, ironworker, plate roller, specialty hand tools

Assembling

· Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials

· Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements

· Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies

· Verifies specifications by measuring completed component

· Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications, notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources

· Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes

· Possess attention to detail and accuracy

· Determine material types and gages

· Read and interpret blueprints

· Mechanical aptitude

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Knowledge and use of conventional measuring equipment

· Computer Numerical Control (CNC) mill and lathe exposure; setup and operating experience preferred
