The FSQ Manager will be responsible for leading and maintaining the Consumer Products Division’s Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Compliance programs. This role will ensure all products manufactured for the Consumer Products division meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. This position will be responsible for enhancing existing internal and external specification program(s) as well as managing & overseeing both in-process and finished product testing. They will become the lead on both internal and external quality inquiries, having the ability and freedom to use their relatable experience to shape and instill what Quality means to our growing division of the company.
The Consumer Products Division sells dry food products primarily for retail grocery. We are a Sales and Research Division that has grown by more than 100% in the last 5 years. We develop and launch Flavored Side dishes, Cake Mixes, Beverage Innovation, and much more. We hire Crest’s Contract Packaging division for all our blending and manufacturing, becoming a unique one-stop shop for our customers. A qualified candidate for this role will effectively define and communicate FSQ standards between our Contract Packaging division and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety & Compliance
- Lead and manage the Division’s Food Safety & Quality expectations
- Assist and represent Consumer Products on the Manufacturing HACCP team
- Establish and maintain quality standards for raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Review and approve product specifications and COAs.
- Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
- Analyze quality metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead root cause analysis for customer complaints and non-conformances.
- Maintain documentation, SOPs, and quality records.
- Foster a strong food safety culture throughout the team(s).
- Frequent visits to the manufacturing, blending, and warehouse floor(s).
- Partner with Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain to support new product launches.
- Collaborate with supporting roles to maintain, monitor, and update both internal and external finished product specifications.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Quality Control, Food Safety, Quality Assurance
- Strong understanding of Microbiology and Analytical testing
- Experience in both Industry and Customer Audits
- Strong knowledge of FDA, FSMA, GMPs, and sanitation programs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Quality Data Reporting
- Experience in Food Manufacturing
- General Food Ingredient knowledge
- Understanding of Food Product certifications such as Non-GMO Project Verified, Gluten Free, Organic, Kosher
