We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our manufacturing production team as a second shift supervisor.
This position is responsible for preparing daily operations across all production lines, aiming to maximize efficiency through safe and high-quality packaging. The primary focus of this role is managing both people and processes to ensure optimal performance. Qualified individuals should possess strong leadership skills, emotional intelligence and an accountability mindset. Decisiveness and a coaching and development focus will be instrumental in your success.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leadership, support & development of all production personnel
- Culture Development
- Monitor lines & personnel for product safety, human safety, quality and efficiency
- Monitor efficiency of plant expediters to ensure adequate supplies are available
- Monitor plant for GMP/PPE compliance and SQF readiness
- Monitor production lines for scrap and loss
- Oversee return/recycle programs
- Food Defense: question/challenge/report
- Responsible for changeover efficiency and documentation
- Collaborate, communicate and coordinate with supporting departments during changeovers, set-up activities and addressing quality issues on the production lines.
- Ensure that the plant and manufacturing lines are kept clean and organized
- Drive training, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives across the department
- Resolve/Escalate machine issues to minimize downtime
Skills required:
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of AS400 and Excel a plus
- Ability to build strong relationships with direct reports
- Active listening, conflict resolution and fostering a collaborative work environment.
