Accountant

$50-$75K Based on Experience

Our ideal candidate will bring substantial experience, strong analytical skills and be a proactive, self-starter in order to hit the ground running. They should thrive in a fast paced environment, working independently and effectively to drive results. Previous Asset management experience preferred. State and local tax knowledge and experience a plus. Ultimately, this position will ensure that all of Crest Foods’ accounting functions are run accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities Include (and are not limited to):

  • Maintain fixed assets and manage asset project progression working closely with other managers.
  • Review and obtain appropriate manager approval for all Requests for Capital Expenditures (RCE) invoices along with tracking costs involved with RCE’s and issue monthly reports.
  • Complete various U.S. Census Bureau requests.
  • Maintain vehicle fleet documentation and listing including assisting in lease v. buy exercises.
  • Assist in update of annual property value for insurance review including business interruption report.
  • Assist in reporting relevant events to insurance broker.
  • Perform month end close responsibilities; including multiple journal postings, reconciling accounts, and preparing ad-hoc reports.
  • Proactively identify and communicate any financial issues on a timely basis.
  • Prepare formal financial presentation material delivered to internal and external readers.
  • Perform annual year end close responsibilities and provide all requested information to auditors.
  • Provide support and respond to information requests from internal departments.
  • Manage priority payables invoices (high value; time sensitive; govt; insurance)
  • Serve as backup to other accounting tasks within the department.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Skills Required:

  • Multiple years proven accounting experience; Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is necessary
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel to efficiently gather, organize and analyze data (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX, HLOOKUP). MS Access knowledge would also be helpful.
  • Ability to professionally interact and communicate effectively with internal and external parties, excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in high-volume, fast paced environment to meet multiple deadlines
  • Solid problem-solving skills, using logic and experience to resolve issues both independently and with other managers
  • Experience working with fixed assets preferred
  • Experience working in manufacturing environment preferred
